Celebrity Make Up: Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner aka the queen of Instagram made head lines with her selfie she posted of her voluminous lips the other day, the 16 year old had not gone under the knife or had lip fillers but with the help of lip liner it create plump luscious lips. Dispute all of the attention surrounding this picture the make up look is amazing so I gave it a go myself.
I used NARS sheer glow on my face and mac select cover up under the eyes and set the two with rimmel  stay matte pressed powder.

For my brows I used my prestige brow palette in light and e.l.f brow gel to set them.

I lines my eyes with physicians formula liquid liner and serum and piled on the mascara.

And finally the lips I used a nude lip liner and coloured in my lips and drew a thin lip around them creating and illusion that they are bigger. Then dabbed nyx crème brûlée butter gloss in the centre, threw my hair up in a messy top knot and voilà your done.

Make Up Haul: drugstore and high end

Australia is great for its sunny weather and beautiful beaches but when it comes to the range of makeup brands it is extremely limited so, i am extremely thankful to whoever got target in Australia to sell NYX and got Kmart to sell e.l.f and two other cheap makeup brands! I think it is so much fun new colours out, but when they $10 each its hard to get as many as you would like. As my friends would know I spend hours scouring the mall for the latest and greatest make up, and when I see a priceline they know they are about to spend 30 minutes in there whilst I um and arrhh over all the different colours to choose for before not getting any of them and choosing something completely different!

Here we dont have anything like sephora :'( but we do have mecca maxima, which sells high end brands that aren't in david jones or myre such as NARS, Smashbox, Two Faced etc etc... I didnt realise it exsisted until I saw it in Warringa Mall...no joke i nearly died of happiness and then of guilt as i walked out with an empty wallet haha. I caved and bought the cult favourite NARS sheer glow foundation it was $68 which is pretty pricey bug I love it so much and it's the perfect colour for me since I am so pale! ( colour monte blanc )

Next high end item that I got was my m.a.c select cover-up in NC20 to replace my beloved studio fix concealer which lasted me forever! This one is a shade darker but it works well with my foundation and easy to blend. It has a creamy consistency which I love. This one was $32 which I was ok with since my other one lasted me so long and no I don't believe in make up used by dates haha oopsie...

Now moving on to my more affordable products. I'm going by brand and first up is e.l.f which has only hit stores this year for us Aussies and it has been flying off the shelves so quickly and every time I get a chance to go to Kmart it is sold out, so I was very excited to find that all the products I wanted were in.

The first is this all over colour stick in the shade pink lemonade, it even smells like pink lemonade!! So yummy. The consistency is really smooth and glides on easily plus the pay off is fantastic! For $3 it is definitely worth it! Another bonus is it can be used on your lips cheeks and eyes!

The second is a brow and lash gel which I needed since I ran out of my old one and nobody like unruly brows so again for $3 great buy and has excellent stay power so two thumbs up

Lastly for e.l.f is three make up brushes each was $3, I have seen youtubers like dulce candy using these and I was really surprised at how soft and dense they were out of the package. In the picture below from top to bottom their name of each is: 1. Defining eye brush 2. Blending eye brush 3. Eyeshadow brush
It's pretty safe to say e.l.f is a new favourite of mine.

Next brand is NYX it is slightly more than e.l.f but I couldn't resist trying the infamous butter gloss in crème brûlée, it is the perfect pinky nude shade I have ever tried and I can definitely see why there is such a hype over these glosses. This one was $9.95 so a bit more but still cheaper than maybelline or rimmel

Ulta 3 I have only seen in chemists in Australia but I could be wrong. Any way they do lipsticks and nail polish and I have occasionally seen their eyeshadow range. For $2 I picked up this deep red colour in a matte look which is really pretty. However it isn't very smooth and doesn't glide in easily but it's $2 so I guess I can't really complain.

Kmart sells their own lip and nail brand called lips and tips. I picked up a pick glitter pot for $3 which I thought was a bit of fun.
The other brand they sell which is cheap is a nameless one but I got a nude lip liner for $4 which has amazing consistency I was very impressed.

Finally I got bad to the bronze colour tattoo by maybelline it was on sale at $7 and the colour is so pigmented and easy to work with it is definitely my favour eyeshadow of the moment!

So there we have it guys my haul of an extremely wide range of priced products for everyone. Let me know if you use any of these or have a recommendation for me to try out next time I'm at the shops

Whats on My iPhone

I am actually obsessed with finding new apps...no joke i have a problem. I like most of us out there love my phone and i have full blown freak outs when i cant find it for two seconds before realizing it was in my hand. The amount of times that i have emptied the entire content of my handbag onto the floor in the middle of where ever i am (eg train station, shopping centre, bathroom floor, car, school, bank, work....the list just goes on and on) its ridiculous.

The amount i rely on my phone is kind cray. It holds all my photos, events, emails, music and more. But what makes it my phone is the apps, the apps which i have carefully searched far and wide to find. So I am going to share with you my top 10 apps on my phone

10. Sleep Cycle
Tracks your sleeping pattern, how well you slept, how long you slept and all that jazz. So if, like me, you love knowing all things to do with your sleep cycles and patterns this app is da bomb.

9. Monument Valley
This game is full of trickery on your eyes and mind, the series of mazes that you need to work out at mind blowingly cool. I lalalooove it.

8. Moves
This app tracks your steps, distance, time and calories you burn whilst walking throughout the day. I think its pretty cool to see all that stuff plus it registers the different of walking to running to cycling...how cool. P.s please excuse my very little amount of walking below lol

7. Pinterest
For all the things you wish for, aspire to be or to go. I love this app so much, I mainly use it for travel inspo and home decor inspo. It has everything and you can pin images and websites in a board with other related items for conviencey.

6. Covet Fashion
I cant get enough. You get to dress your girl in this seasons clothes and mix and match outfits to suit the set events. It is so much fun plus you can vote on other peoples looks and can win prizes!

5. Guvera
I like this app because it allows you to listen to hundreds of different songs when connected to the wifi, and then when you arent connected it syncs the one you listened to online so you can still listen offline. Plus you can create playlists and share them with friends and its entirely free!

4. The Hunt
If you have ever seen something on tumblr, instagram in a magazine...basically where ever and really wanted it then get this app. You can upload the image of what you are looking for, if it be a bag, a top, even a pair of shoes, it then gets put out into the app and people help each other find it online! How cool is that! So everyone get it cause the more the merrier

3. Faded
This app has all your photo editing needs in one, you can put filters, light leaks, frames, gradients and even layer images plus its free! I never not use it to be honest, plus i used to have about ten different apps for editing photos now i just use this which saves a lot of space on my phone.

2. Instagram
I dont think i need to say anything really, its a classic and everyone should go follow me haha ( @alanadavisonn)

1. Wattpad
I love this app so much, i cant get over it, there are soo many books on there to read plus you can publish your own work for free. It is fab and also has all genres which is prefect for any mood. I always use it at work, because a) when its quite it fills in time b) it self scrolls through the pages which means i dont have to touch the screen whilst reading and you can also set the scroll to match your reading pace and c) the amount of books on there is redonculous

So there you have it, my top 10 picks for my phone apps. Let me know it you have any of these or have any for me to try out. So yeah, i highly recommend downloading these apps cause they are da bestest ever haha

Physicians Formula Review

I hardly even repurchase makeup items as I always want to try the latest and greatest thing on the shelves. However I have repurchased two items from the physicians formula line over three times!! They are the organic wear jumbo lash mascara and the eye booster 2 in 1 eyeliner.
The mascara I first discover on graveyard girls YouTube channel ( if you don't know her go check her out she is so great and full of energy)

From the packaging to the product I love almost everything about this mascara it lasts most of the day however if you are an emotional person like me this mascara  can be lethal when your eyes water as it stings a bit when it comes in contact with your eye and also takes a little while to dry but it gives lashes a really nice look.

This eyeliner is to die for and I can not get over it I have never ever ever ever found a liquid liner which is as easy and as long lasting than this one.I have swam in this eyeliner, been in a storm in this eyeliner and suffered terrible humidity in it and it never budges unless I take it off with make up remover or whilst using my cleanser. The other bonus is that it has a lash serum in it which enhances lashes fullness and length... Seriously ladies go but it! The tip it is actually lots of little fibres which make up the point which allows for a lot of different size lines. Other products I purchased have been a highlight and a eyeshadow palette.

I apply it to my cheekbones and cuspids bow as a highlight and I love it's soft glowing effect it gives The last product us the eyeshadow palette

It is perfect for day wear and has really nice neutral colours the only thing is they aren't that pigmented however you can build it up

Thanks for reading and let me know if you have got any favourite products that you always use

p.s i took photos of each item but them deleted so i just used pictures i found on the physicians formula website, I am so sorry, but dont worry my next post will be back to my own photos xx

Skinstitution!

Hello lovelies as some of you might know I love trying new skin care products and am always trying to perfect my skin care routine... Unfortunately my search has been extensive and my results mediocre. Upon discovering the brand skinstitute I did some research and quickly discovered that most of the reviews were very positive, so I thought bugger it I am going to give it a try. A week later my parcel arrived and I was so excited to try out the products. I got a glycolic cleanser and a scrub.

The scrub has a grainy texture but doesn't feel scratchy, they don't really have a bad smell although you can smell the glycolic ingredient but it's not unpleasant.

Here is a swatch of the scrub as you can see the consistency is lumpier than the cleanser ( below ) but all you do is wet your face and then apply a pea size amount (a little goes a long way!) in circular motions and rinse, same applies to cleanser.

Additional products I use include

e.l.f zit zapper for those small white heads or emerging pimps. I picked it up at Kmart for $3 so I thought even of it isn't great it wouldn't hurt to try I was actually pleasantly surprised with how good it is. I use it just one the top of each pimple just before bed and they rapidly reduce over night. Also I love that it is a roller ball applicator.

Garniers dark spot corrector is one of my favourite drugstore moisturisers not only does it fade dark spots and blemishes but I found that it also leaves my skin feeling really soft. I even mix it in with my foundation when I want a light coverage or am working out.

My high end moisturiser is benefits total moisture facial cream it is a thick consistency and deeply moisturises. In a previous post I mentioned that I really wanted it and for Christmas last year I asked Santa and he was very kind and gave it to me 😀 the only down to this product is if your skin is oily i wouldn't recommend. I have combination skin and find that I can only use it when my skin is in desperate need of moisture.

Do you guys have any favourite skin care products? Let me know in the comment section below
