Review: Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

Hello everyone! I hope you are well :) Today I am reviewing Maybellines New Mega Plush Mascara, this has only just hit the shelves here in Aus so i thought it would be a perfect time to review it so you guys can get a feel for this product before you go out and buy it.
Basically this new mascara is a gel base formula which claims that it doesnt flake or clump eyelashes. I dont 100% agree with this, although it doesn't smugde it does however clump, i think it might be the brush that does that. The brush has a flexible top which is quite loose which I find hard to work with and the bristles are very long which makes it hard to get to shorter lashes. This product also claims its buildable, I dont find it that good at layering because the more you put on the clumpier it gets. Here is a picture of the mascara in each step as I build it up.

I havent curled my lashes so they look very straight but, as you can see the heavier the application the more clumps.

My lashes didnt look like the ad... fml

I wont buy this again as I like to try different mascaras each time I shop and this one didnt impress me all too much

Please leave me a comment if you have tried this out and liked it or disliked it

Review: Smith's Rosebud Salve

Hello everyone! Today I'm doing a review of my absolute favourite product, I have bought this over and over again which is quite rare for me to do but, I find this lip balm so smooth and luscious. I always keep one in my bag as it can be used for multiple things such as:- chapped lips and skin, blemishes, rough cuticles and softens rough hands. So its pretty nifty! I have only ever seen them at Sephora when I visit the US which is why I stock up, they are only about $5 which i think is great value and they last for ages!! So I give this product a big thumbs up!

My Skin Make-Up Routine

Flawless skin is hard to get unless its photoshopped. I have tried so many different products to make my skin look perfect and so far havent been all that successful but i have found a routine which makes my skin look natural and covers uneven skin tone.

The products I use can all be bought from Priceline and are all relatively cheap.

I attached a photo of my face with all the make-up on it. This is also my everyday make-up, I wear it to school, work and out during the day.

I only need four brushes to create this look but if you don't own any brushes you can use your fingers.

Bourjois healthy mix serum gel foundation my colour is the lightest (51) (bit of a mouthful) is a very highly recommended foundation  used by some of my favourite youtubers such as Zoella and FleurDeForce. It is really easy to apply and gives a flawless look, the only down side is it's a light-medium coverage. I apply this with my foundation brush.

To set my foundation I use Rimmels stay matte powder in 002.I apply this all over my face and under my eye, over the top of my concealer (M.A.C studio finish NC15. It stops your foundation from coming off during the day. I definitely recommend this product!

I find this bronzer is really easy to work with, it blends well and isn't shimmery so it can be worn everyday which makes me very happy. I love the look it gives, it really lifts the face and is a great contour.

Let me know if you use any of these products

Mini Fashion Haul

This is my first every fashion haul! I am so excited to show you guys what i got.
So, yesterday I went into the city with one of my friends we first went to Newtown, which is a super hip inner city suburb filled with great shops and cafes (if you have never been i would definitely recommend going). I got two skater skirts for $35 and a pair of sunnies for $10 and lastly a sock bun with was $4 i think. I bought all this stuff from JUST FEATHERS. Once we had finished there we headed into the QVB, there were such great sales on and my friend wanted to go to kookai, and i am so glad we did. They had a huge sale on and I got a super cute dress for $35!

Skater skirts are very wearable and flattering, they skim over the stomach and create the illusion of a smaller waist. I love them because you can dress them up or down depending on the occasion. Plus they can be worn all through the year. For the colder months throw on some stockings of thigh high socks and boots with a over sized knit and your good to go. Or in the summer wear a loose fitting singlet tucked in with cute sandals and you have a super easy, super cute outfit.

I bough these circle sunglasses because they are the most suited to my face shape. Also i am going on holiday to Thailand in September so wearing sun glasses are a good way of looking good and not needing to worry about make-up.

This dress was not something I needed but i feel in love with the colour and material oh and the price! Plus the asymmetrical hemline is so on trend this year and can be dressed up or down so easily.

Quick & Easy: Homemade Beauty Products

On days when you feel like having a cheeky pamper session but, don't want to go to a salon or spend money on expensive products; then boy oh, boy do I have a great post for you! Here are some of my absolute favourite DIY masks, scrubs and hair treatments which can be made from kitchen ingredients!

Firstly I have an easy body scrub which will give you THE smoothest legs, I swear they feel amazing after!

Ingredients

1/2 cup of coconut oil (you can use olive oil if you dont have coconut oil)
Juice of 1 lemon or 1/2 cup of lemon juice
1 1/4 cups of sugar

Mix all the ingredients into a bowl

Apply generously all over body
Then rinse off some mix leaving a thin layer of the mixture
Shave your legs (this isnt a must but it makes your legs feel alot smoother)
                                         Rinse
                                         Dry and voila!\

If you don't shave your legs or want to try something else then use

 - 1 cup Brown Sugar
-1 cup  raw oatmeal
-1 cup olive oil

Mix and apply to skin gently and rinse off in the shower

Next I have two super easy face scrubs

The first only needs two ingredients -2 Strawberries
                                               -1 tsp Brown Sugar

Mash them together and gently rub over your face. Concentrate on areas where your pores are. Rinse with cold water.

Second is an oatmeal scrub, the ingredients are -1 tbsp of honey
  -1/2 tsp of lemon juice
-2 tsp of oatmeal (porridge oats)

Now for some hair recipes
Hair is made up mainly of protein which can get stripped away easily especially when you use hot tools and chemicals, so to rejuvenate you hair mix up this mask and apply. You will notice a difference within 30 mins

Ingredients - 1 Egg Yolk (yellow part)
                 - 3 tbsp olive oil
                 - 1 tbsp honey
Mix in a bowl, then gently massage into hair and leave it on for 30mins. Wash out with any shampoo.

If you dont have alot of time then make this leave in conditioner which will tame your frizzies and lock in moisture to combat dryness.

Ingredients - 2tbsp Honey
                 -  4 cups of warm water

Mix and apply after shampooing and conditioning your hair. Dont rinse, let it dry naturally.

Last hair mask is a hydrating one.

Ingredients - 4 tbsp olive oil
                 - 2 tbsp honey

Pour olive oil into a microwavable bowl and watm up for 20secs
Add honey and stir until its evenly mixed
Coat all hair and let it sit for 15 mins
Rinse twice and condition as usual.

I hope this was helpful! I love making all of these and its so fun to do as well!
