Quick & Easy: Homemade Beauty Products

On days when you feel like having a cheeky pamper session but, don't want to go to a salon or spend money on expensive products; then boy oh, boy do I have a great post for you! Here are some of my absolute favourite DIY masks, scrubs and hair treatments which can be made from kitchen ingredients!

Firstly I have an easy body scrub which will give you THE smoothest legs, I swear they feel amazing after!

Ingredients

1/2 cup of coconut oil (you can use olive oil if you dont have coconut oil)
Juice of 1 lemon or 1/2 cup of lemon juice
1 1/4 cups of sugar

Mix all the ingredients into a bowl

Apply generously all over body
Then rinse off some mix leaving a thin layer of the mixture
Shave your legs (this isnt a must but it makes your legs feel alot smoother)
                                         Rinse
                                         Dry and voila!\

If you don't shave your legs or want to try something else then use

 - 1 cup Brown Sugar
-1 cup  raw oatmeal
-1 cup olive oil

Mix and apply to skin gently and rinse off in the shower

Next I have two super easy face scrubs

The first only needs two ingredients -2 Strawberries
                                               -1 tsp Brown Sugar

Mash them together and gently rub over your face. Concentrate on areas where your pores are. Rinse with cold water.

Second is an oatmeal scrub, the ingredients are -1 tbsp of honey
  -1/2 tsp of lemon juice
-2 tsp of oatmeal (porridge oats)

Now for some hair recipes
Hair is made up mainly of protein which can get stripped away easily especially when you use hot tools and chemicals, so to rejuvenate you hair mix up this mask and apply. You will notice a difference within 30 mins

Ingredients - 1 Egg Yolk (yellow part)
                 - 3 tbsp olive oil
                 - 1 tbsp honey
Mix in a bowl, then gently massage into hair and leave it on for 30mins. Wash out with any shampoo.

If you dont have alot of time then make this leave in conditioner which will tame your frizzies and lock in moisture to combat dryness.

Ingredients - 2tbsp Honey
                 -  4 cups of warm water

Mix and apply after shampooing and conditioning your hair. Dont rinse, let it dry naturally.

Last hair mask is a hydrating one.

Ingredients - 4 tbsp olive oil
                 - 2 tbsp honey

Pour olive oil into a microwavable bowl and watm up for 20secs
Add honey and stir until its evenly mixed
Coat all hair and let it sit for 15 mins
Rinse twice and condition as usual.

I hope this was helpful! I love making all of these and its so fun to do as well!

Products which I have been loving lately

Recently I have been spending probably a bit too much on beauty products... but never the less it makes for a great haul! One of my previous posts i did was all about how disappointing it is when a product is terrible this post is pretty much the opposite; it contains a bunch of goodies that i have fallen in love with, and hopefulkly you will too!

Firstly we have this clinique rinse-off eye makeup remover, it literally removes every last ounce of makeup; so you arent left with horrible black rings under your eyes when you wake up the next morning. Its fab for sensitive skin and even though its slightly scented its not offensive what so ever.

I can't get over how ingenious this product is! Its super handy for days when you are running late and forget to put on perfume. I kept this in my hand bag and would apply it on the whenever i had forgotten to spritz myself that morning. Unfortunatly it fell out of my bag at the gym and because its glass ( the one down side of this product) it smashed, i was so disapointed and on top of that had to clean it all up :(

Sea salt spray has been quite big in the last few years and this one is by far the best for creating big voluminous hair. It really does give your hair that "just gone swimming in the sea" feel and look.

Best hairspray. Long lasting. Smells nice, unlike the normal "hairspray scent". Yeah so basically great not much more to say on this one. :P

Ok if you dont know what moroccan/argan oil is let me introduce you to it...it is basically a leave in hair treatment that leaves your hairy looking shiny soft and luscious. I have tried multiple types of moroccan oils and this one is a really good dupe for the original moroccan oil. this one is $14 and the real one is $70 or $80 im not too sure which one but its not cheap.

I love love love this lip balm its great for adding a slight pop of colour for a day time look. Also whats even better is I won it! So it was free *yay*. there is swatch below V its quite sheer so hopefully you can see it ok :)

This scent is so delicious it smells of candy and lingers throught the whole day, I always get compliments on it when i wear it and its $3.50 which I think is a bit of bargain really!

Let me know if you like this post! Also if you have any tips of posts that you would like to see more of let me know in the comment section below :)

Ebay Make Up Haul

I recently discovered the wonderful world of eBay; and boy oh boy I'm glad i did! I know eBay has been around for donkeys years but i never even thought about buying anything from there let alone makeup... So like JB said 'never say never' i had a little look around and found some great products at really good prices! So its safe to say i have been converted to an ebayer ( < new word?) and i am super happy about it.

I ended up buying four things, all of which i have been wanting for awhile now so i was very happy!

These Brushes are soo good they are super soft and the case is adorable! The set cost me $30 which is amazing! I la la love them!

This highlighter is fabulous i seriously cant get over it! I have been using it every single day since i got it! I apply it to my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose to give me a healthy glow.

This doesn't even need an introduction! I have wanted this product for yonks! Its the best thing since sliced bread and i honestly dont know why i didn't buy it sooner (p.s. i will do a post reviewing this product soon)

This concealer palette was $2 from a Chinese ebayer and for the little amount i paid for it the colours are quite vivid and easy to blend. I received this today so I'm not sure if it lasts a long time but i will keep you posted!

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as i enjoyed doing it! Oh and i just want to ask is it just me or is it so satisfying receiving packages in the mail! Its like Christmas to me! Ha ha

Some things just ain't that great!

Basically this post is all about products that i have bought and not really liked. I think its safe to say that everyone hates buying a product and after using it once or twice deciding its not great and is actually a really big disappointment. I for one can say that I have had my fair share of rubbish products. I have documented them all below for you so if you ever think of buying them in the future I can save you the disappointment. If I can help just one person my job will be done! Sooo with out further a do here are my top worst products!!

This heat protection spray is absolute crapola! It is really sticky and matted my hair it has terrible! Stay as far away from it as possible!

I didn't realise when i bought it that it had self tanner in it. I thought it was just a moisturiser so i slapped it on before bed and woke up the next morning with orange streaks ( not a good look). I tried to put it on carefully and let it dry evenly but it still went streaky. I find this product to tricky to get right so to me its not really worth the effort.

This product claimed to give you natural curls that were bouncy and lovely....LIES!!! It made my hair heavy and gross, oh and my hair wasnt curly at all! So yeah this one is a definate no go zone!

I was super excited to try this product when I heard about it. Basically what it is supposed to do is change colour with the temperature. The colour goes from purple when its warm to pink when its cold, to change the colour I literally had to dunk my hand in a bucket of ice for 10 seconds for it to change to pink, the pink lasted about 20seconds before my hand thawed out. So yeah basically this product is a liar.

This is a random one but the main reason I hate it is it smells bad, like really badd!!

Okay so this says "Light Feel" but it is anything but light... its oily and sticky and just not great.

Anyhoo I hope this little rant about bad products I have bought will help save you from buying them. Let me know it you have bought a product that wasnt great, I would love to hear about it.

Have a great day

HOW TO: Aquababe Eye

Products I used to create this look were....

I used this as a primer for my eyeshadow and also as a highlight under my brow and on the inner corner of my eye.

I used this Australis palette called Karma. I used the yellow all over my lids and then the blue in my crease. I blended them together and then on the outer corners of my eye I add some more of the blue.
OH and I almost forgot i put under my eye to about half way.

I used this yellowish concealer on my waterline. I put it the whole way across.

I used my brow kit to fill in my brows next.

After filling in my brows i used my studio finish concealer with a flat brush under my brows to give extra definition.

Then I use liquid eyeliner on my top lashline.

Finally I layer on the Mascara!!!!

AND thats it! I hope you found this helpful!

Highlight and Conture

My Secret to a perfectly contured/ highlighted face is...SEPHORAS SCULPTING DISK!
It comes with bronzer, highlighter and a matte finishing powder.
I swatched each of them below the bronzer is quiet pigmented so i always tap off the excess that is on my brush. The highlighter gives a really nice sheen to the face. I use it on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and sometimes under the brows. It can be used on its own but i like to put my blush over the top of it to create abit of lift. The finishing powder is not very pigmented and works for alot of different skin tones, I have used it on my friends who have olive toned skin and it works well on them.

To apply my bronzer I use my conture brush. I apply the bronzer to my cheeks and jaw line.

I then apply my highlight with a blush brush to the bridge of my nose, brow bone, cheek bones and sometimes my decolletage.
Lastly I use the finishing powder to blend everything out, I do this with my Kabuki Brush. I apply it all over the face.

I hope you guys found this useful!

xoxo
